Happy Spring!

I love this time of year...everything is growing like mad in the garden and all the spring bulbs are popping up and jostling for their space. The prospect of another summer ahead...

Here are some of my favourite flowers at the moment from my garden. Cowslips, helebores, primroses, lupins, and my favourite pulmonaria.

Cat prints

I was greeted by these foot prints this morning when I braved the cold to let the chooks out. They were made by the black cat from next door I think, they looked so crisp in the frost, had to take a photo.

Agatha

"Queen of Crime"

An adventure...

The girls out on an adventure under the fruit trees. From left to right: Frida a Rhode Rock Hybrid, Agatha a Speckled Sussex, Rosa a light Sussex and Hep a Buff Orpington. They love their outings under the trees, they can scrath around and make dust baths, funny to watch them. They have been with us since May. Rosa and Hep (the two on the far right) were only ten weeks old when we got them, but they are getting bigger and braver.

Strange Garden: Apple Tree

Strange Garden:Portrait of a tree

"A silhouette is a view of an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black. The term was initially applied in the 18th century to portraits or other pictorial representations cut from thin black card.

The term has been extended to describe the sight or image of a person, object or scene that is backlit, and appears dark against a lighter background.

Silhouette images may be created in any artistic media, but the tradition of cutting portraits from black card has continued into the 21st century."
